Lovely piece of old folk art stoneware presented in a deep glossy black glaze on the exterior and on the interior. Across the front red blooms have been painted with green stems and leaves. The side, tiny art deco, handles, with a round knob on the lid. We love this piece to store anything, it’s great for K pods for your coffee maker, or tea bags, even great to hold dog treats or cookies. Perfect rustic and primitive piece for display also.
8 inches tall to the top of the lid 8 inches in diameter
Nice condition there is a scuff to the glaze on the top of the knob, see photo there are some imperfections in the glaze that show themselves as a pockmark, or an indentation, from the time of making the vessel. There is some paint loss to the florals on the front, appropriate to age and use .
